Recipients of the data 

Ypsomed AG and the Ypsomed Innovation Fund Foundation (hereafter ‘Ypsomed’) only pass on data if required by legal provisions or contractual services or if you have consented to the transfer. We require all such recipients to comply with applicable data protection laws and standards. 

Recipients may receive personal data under the following conditions:

  • External service providers and processors employed by Ypsomed may receive personal data for the following purposes:
    • Service providers for hosting, SAAS solutions;
    • payment service providers;
    • logistics and printing services as well as telecommunications;
    • consultancy and distribution and marketing.

The service providers and processors we use are contractually obliged to comply with data protection standards.

If required by law or requested by an authority, Ypsomed may process and disclose your personal data without prior notice or consent. This may be done pursuant to a court order or other regulatory requirement. Where permitted by law, we will inform you about such disclosure after the fact. 

Ypsomed does not sell personal data to third parties.

Data transfer to a third country

Ypsomed only transfers data to countries outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA) if the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the European Commission has confirmed that these countries have an adequate level of data protection. In these countries, national laws ensure a level of protection of personal data that is comparable to that provided by Swiss or EU law. However, if data has to be transferred to other countries that are not recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we ensure the security of your data with appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses approved by the FDPIC or the European Commission) and enhanced technical security measures.

Insofar as the legal requirements are met, you have the right to: 

  • receive information and a copy of your data; 
  • correct and delete your data; 
  • restrict the processing of your data;
  • transfer your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format;
  • lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority at your place of residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement;
  • Withdraw consent to data processing without stating reasons;
  • Object if the data is processed on the basis of a legitimate interest of Ypsomed.

  • Managing our relationship with you, including communicating with you in relation to our products and services (e.g. when you register for an event).
  • Providing and improving our products and services.

Occasionally, you may provide us with your personal information directly, for example, when you send us the Project Summary Sheet by email or provide us with your details for participation in an event.

We collect your name and email address for this service. In connection with the requested service, we may collect additional information such as occupation, company or your interest in certain topics.

Justification for the processing

We process your personal data:

  • on the basis of your consent, which you have voluntarily given us (e.g. when you provide us with your data using an online form);
  • to fulfil legal and regulatory obligations to which we are subject;
  • for the purposes of our legitimate interests.

Duration of processing

When we no longer need the personal data for the purposes stated in this data protection declaration, we will permanently delete or anonymise it. Ypsomed is subject to various legal storage and documentation obligations, so it is possible that we may continue to store visitors' personal data for a certain period of time even after they have left the website or cancelled their user accounts.

The data relating to your enquiries will be deleted as soon as the matter in question has been conclusively clarified and there are no further contractual or legal storage obligations.
